SHUFFLE CONCERT

In 2009 I was approached by the Musical Director of a unique new ensemble - SHUFFLE CONCERT, to create all the design material for the group: logo, website, musical pieces menu and promotional materials. Later on I did the album cover design and onstage video art for one special performance - SHUFFLE 1933.

I have worked with the group close to 10 years, and throughout that time created countless work products, evolving in look and style through the years (after a few years we changed the whimsical logo I initially created, and revamped the branding).

Here is the original logo and the new logo I created after a few years:

The concept of  the ensemble was brilliant: in each performance the audience gets a numbered menu of musical selections in many styles: classical, baroque, jazz, Broadway, pop and more. Before each piece is being played a number is being drawn and the person holding the menu with that number can choose the next piece to be played.

Here is the video trailer we made way back in 2010, explains the concept, including the little logo animation I did for it:

Here a sample of the menus (I've made over 30 different versions throughout the years...) - one from the regular concert and one from the special family concert aimed at kids:

When the time came to produce an album, I designed the cover, including many promotional materials.

Here are some more print materials I did for the group throughout the years:

In 2017 the ensemble produced a special concert called SHUFFLE 1933. The show had a very unique concept: they tried to take a look at the social, historical and political events that occurred at the year 1933, and their influence on music and art the time.

My first task was to design the look and feel for the show, that was accompanied by videos and narration, in addition to the music played by the ensemble.

Since in 1933 Art Deco was still a reigning style, I decided to use that as my bases. Here is the poster I designed, that was the bases for the entire visual identity of the concert. If you look carefully, you can find all of the 6 instruments in the ensemble: piano, violin, oboe, clarinet, cello and voice...

This video, The Prologue, was the first thing the audience saw when they the concert started:

This is some sample of the imagery that was shown on stage while narration was read:
